SWTOR Guide Review

With the big day inching closer and closer, Star Wars: The Old Republic communities around the web exploded with rumors, content, impressions and the like. Until now, many players are researching what class they will choose upon release date. Perhaps players want to join the Republic, the good guys and do some good wiping the planets with Empire scum. But in the same notion, perhaps players are done playing nice and chose to play dirty for the glory of the Empire!

Which side are you on?

To prepare for the fun, I recently bought a guide from KillerGuides specializing in producing guides for a multitude of MMO games, SWTOR being no different. I bought the entire SWTOR guides bundle at the price of $79.99 for 26 awesome guides in PDF format (which when I looked at the entire bundle without the discount, I saved 80%). In the SWTOR strategy guide the author meticulously took the time to jot down their knowledge and obervations. Direct and informative, I literally learned the proper and smart way to play the game without hitting dead ends every hour. Many players who do not understand the mechanics of the game will play on without thinking about the efficient way on making Credits, crafting and so forth. Once they want to earn more Credits, for example, things become complicated. The web can only help so much!

SWTOR GuidesThere is another guide explicitly dedicating to SWTOR Credit guide. From what I understand, Credits can be obtained in various ways: missions/quests, crafting, gambling and trading. Gambling, as a quick side note is not included in the previous Star Wars games!

Buying this guide really gave me an idea what to expect in the Star Wars: The Old Republic game. This guide will give players an upper hand over other players due to the fact you’ve got all the tricks of the trade and the guides come with free updates! How can you not pass that up?

Do not assume for one second this guide is exclusively for beginners; you are mistaken! Even advanced gamers turn to KillerGuides to achieve maximum profits!

Since 2008, Electronic Arts has been teasing the gaming community with rumors and tidbits about a MMO in the planning called Star Wars: The Old Republic. Although Star Wars originally started as a single movie directed by George Lucas in the late 1970’s, it has remained popular as a franchise throughout the years in much the same manner that Star Trek has done. SWTOR is one of the most anticipated games of 2011 and gamers are already searching for SWTOR quest guides.

According to BioWare, The Old Republic is going to be different from any previous MMO because your actions will heavily influence game play and each quest will be as important as or more important than the last. While some gamers are willing to pay the game by the seat of their pants and live or die with their choices, those gamers who chase end game content will be searching for any SWTOR quest guides that can make the journey a little easier and a more enjoyable experience for them.

Some gamers are already questioning whether Star Wars the Old Republic can thrive in a game genre dominated by the World of Warcraft MMO. Many others are eagerly anticipating an MMO that is based on a science fiction story line rather than one based on fantasy or steampunk.

SWTOR should prove to bring fresh air to the MMO genre in a big way as player choices can permanently change storylines as well as change how NPC’s in the persistent universe interact with you afterwards. This take on the MMO genre will drive more players to seek out SWTOR quest guides than did in previous games in the genre.

SWTOR also aspires to be different from other MMO’s in that each class is designed to fill any of the major roles you usually find in MMOs. Players will find that completing group quests are easier than ever when virtually everyone in the game can fill out a group and tackle the quest lines together. Read more about questing in the game as well as other guides for other aspects of the game such as classes and starships from other game related sites such as the SWTOR Guide and SWTOR Classes blogs.

The official release day for SWTOR has been pushed back to September 2011 because BioWare is still extensively beta testing their game. Although impatient gamers are lamenting this fact, extensive beta testing provides a polished final product and gives beta testers plenty of time to flesh out SWTOR quest guides that will help both veterans and new entrants into the MMO genre.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Races

Filed under: SWTOR Guides by:

With a confirmed release date of spring of 2011, Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is looking to provide a detailed massively multiplayer online (MMO) experience for Jedi fans. The timeline of the Old Republic is set 3,500 years before the rise of Darth Vader. Users will be able to choose from eight races as they journey through the Star Wars world.

Like most other MMOs, the first of the SWTOR races are the humans. Individuals who choose the human race can play a good selection of classes. The player configurable is quite variable with the human race allowing for individualization of their avatars. Hair color, lip color, tattoos, and scars are available for customization.

The second of the SWTOR races is the pale Rattakai. Currently, Bioware has only confirmed the ability to customize tattoos with this character race. As well, this race will allow users to select the bounty hunter class. Next in the lineup of SWTOR races is the Twi’lek. This colorful skin toned race allows playability for several class types on both side of the Jedi realm.

The Chiss class is distinctive by their blue skin tones and bright red eyes. This is a sith only race, therefore, it provides only access to their three classes. These characters are both available in male and female genders. A secondary solely Empire only race is the Sith. With many unique configurations to ensure uniqueness, this race will be likely being one of the most popular among the SWTOR races. Rumors have swirled about this race to be only female, but have not been confirmed by Bioware.

The Miraluka race has the potential to be both a Jedi and an Empire class as the lore follows both paths. Commonly, these characters have strong abilities with the force, therefore, may make a strong Jedi Knight. Individuals could also choose to play the Mirialan character race. While BioWare has not released much about this character race, it is assumed that this race will provide a variety of playable classes. What BioWare has released is these characters will be available in both male and female characters, and have many customizations available including facial tattoos.

Lastly, the evil Zabrak race is available for characters to play. Most Star Wars fans will easily recognize this race as that of Darth Maul. With the distinctive red skin and horns, this is easily the most evil looking of the SWTOR races. One of the only few confirmed facts is that this will be an Empire class.

Smuggler – Smugglers are the free spirits of the galaxy. They’ve never been able to stay in one place for long and the desire for quick riches fills their thoughts. While their intentions may be more selfish in nature than the rest they have made their choice to side with the Republic for the sake of freedom. Freedom to turn a profit legally or otherwise.

Jedi Knight – If you know anything of Star Wars, you know what a Jedi is. The Jedi Knight’s are the wielders of the Force and elite fighters. Imperial Agent – SWTOR Imperial Agents are the assassins and covert soldiers of the Empire. While none are members of the Sith they are looked upon with great reverie by the citizens of the Empire

Sith Inquisitor – The Inquisitors wield the Force with raw power. They seek status in the Empire and study the darkest uses of the Force in order to manipulate and destroy all those that are useful or an opposition.
